– fyeahparkourHow do I jump from tall heights? I want to work my way up (or down, rather) and steadily increase my falling distance.

Then… that’s what you do. Learn to roll from a kneeling position. Then squatting. Then standing. Then from a standing jump. Then from a bench.Just work your way up slowly and remember to back off if you get injured.
And don’t expect to be doing David Belle-like roof jumps anytime soon — you need a lot of conditioning and training to do those safely. As in, years.
Listen to your body. If you’re feeling scared before you do a drop — consider the reason why. Is it going to hurt? Don’t do it. Are you jumping to impress someone? Don’t do it.
Be smart, train safe.

love this… every time you get knocked down you learn how to pick yourself up again… the more I fail and learn the better I get.

As we get ready for the 93rd year of universal public education, here’s the question every parent and taxpayer needs to wrestle with: Are we going to applaud, push or even permit our schools (including most of the private ones) to continue the safe but ultimately doomed strategy of churning out predictable, testable and mediocre factory-workers?
–I was able to sit still in school and play by the rules but I did so at my pace… with a challenge here and a challenge there. The traditional learning environment isn’t the place I learned my most important lessons, it was the places I wanted to be in.
